The elder recalls own childhood in polish countryside at his grandparents'. The grandma had many hens, which were real friends for him. As a young boy he was very sad when each Friday he had to choose one hen to be sacrificed as a Sabbath dinner. In his tenth birthday he received one hen as a gift. Now, as an old man, he gives the same gift to Joshua.
